      Hello,

I am doing a new cloverleaf install and I got this error:

Unable to Install NT user ‘hciuser’

Do I need the hciuser? Or can I just set the service up to run as another user?

If I need hciuser, can I just create it manually, or do I need to re-run the install?

      Thanks,

      Garrett

          Hi,

Is it a Window’s server with a security policy applied? If so then this is the problem you get.

We used to install Cloverleaf before the Infrastructure team locked the servers down – Always a race 😉

Yes – You can add the user manually – I have in the past. Just make sure you get the password right.

          Regards

          Garry

            Thanks Gary,

I will have the customer check my access level.

I was hesitent to just create the user because I didnt know how much of the install did not get completed after that point. I noticed that no icons were copied to the desktop or program menu, so I didnt know what all got misses.

            Thanks,

            G

I figured out what was stopping the user from being created. There was a password policy on the server, and the hciuser did not meet the password requirements. We had to take the server out of the domain, change the password policy (actually it went back to default after we took it out of the domain), then install CLoverleaf, then put the server back in the domain.

              Thanks for your responses Gary.
