Trouble installing CL6.1.1 patch on Windows client

I am getting the following error on my Windows desktop.

I only want to install the client, not the server. It doesn’t ask which I want.

What am I doing wrong?

C:ClovertempCL6111WindowsClient>install_update.cmd

Environment variable CL_INSTALL_DIR is NOT defined. Please set it to the correct path before installing this update.

For example: set CL_INSTALL_DIR=C:cloverleafcis6.1

Click on start, right click on Computer, select properites and in top left select advanced system settings.  Towards the bottom is a button for Environment Variables, seleect it.

In the system variables, either make a new or edit the existing CL_INSTALL_DIR and set your install path as requested.  Probably something like C:cloverleafcis6.1.  Once that is in place you will probably receive the options….

Open a command prompt, may want to run as administrator.  If you type set as the command prompt you should see CL_INSTALL_DIR as being one of the variables set.

That worked.

I can’t believe it was that easy.

I didn’t trust what the error was telling me.

I’m surprised CL_INSTALL_DIR wasn’t there from the initial install of the client.
