We came across an issue when we were doing Daylight Saving Time (DST) in cloverleaf interface engine server

In our site, cloverleaf integration service, Versin of 5.4, is running on AIX5.2.

Today, March 11, 2 am, we were doing (DST) in the server and running into

an issue: In client monitoring tool, all threads status timestampes do not accomodate DST changes, namely all

the time shown still remains the one hours behind.  any ideal?

If you applied the IBM fix as stated in the Technical Bulletin to your AIX server, then should have the correct date and time.  Use the ‘date’ command to verify. From what we have gathered, the “GUI 1hr behind” problem is cosmetic and should have no affect of your internal interface processing. You can refer to the Clovertech Forum Index under ‘Technical Bulletins’ for the dicussion that took place about this topic earlier today.

          Good Luck, Mary.

You also need to update the java running on your workstation.

Is there a patch for the JVM that comes with the 5.3 client? I couldn’t get the tzupdater to run on it.

If you download j2re-1_3_1_20-windows-i586 from Sun and run it against your client, your display will be corrected.  When you start the Java install and it asks where to install, put: “c:quovadxqd5.3integratorclguijava”.  If you are running 5.3.

My question is this…if I apply the java updates, do you have to stop and restart all the processes? I would assume you would 🙂

                    Thanks.

I downloaded the j2re-1_3_1_20-windows-i586  patch and applied it to my machine, but now all of the netmonitor status times are displayed in GMT. What do I have to do to get the JVM in Cloverleaf to use the timezone that my pc is using?

The fix I suggested is for the Client only.  You will still have to do the Server pieces recommend by Quovadx, if you haven’t done so.

The other question about GMT, I’m sorry; but I don’t see that on my PC.  I am running XP with the DST fix installed from Microsoft.

                          Stephen,

Did you have to shut down all your processes to do this?

No, there was no shutting down of threads or processes.

XP machine running 5.4.1 client.   Made a copy of C:quovadxqdx5.4.1integratorclguijava.

Downloaded the j2re-1_3_1_20-windows-i586  patch. Put it in c:quovadxqd5.4.1integratorclguijava”.  Ran it successfully.

The client gui will not start. I deleted the new “java” dir, renamed the old copy to “java”, the client runs now.

Any ideas on what I’m missing ?

                              Tx in advance

You need tocheck your java version.  The 1.3.1_20 was for Cloverleaf 5.3. Cloverleaf 5.4.1 has java version:

                                Java version: 1.4.2_06

                                Java vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc.

I downloaded the tzupdater-1.1.0-2007c.zip file from Java.sun.com, and copied the tzupdater.jar file to C:quovadxqdx5.4.1integratorclguijavabin directory on my client PC, then ran the following command from there:

                                java -jar tzupdater.jar

Use this for 5.4.1, download then rename the file to tzupdater.jar

It’s really not a zip file, I named it that to fool the attachment tool.

                                    Put it in C:quovadxqdx5.4.1integratorclguijavabin>

                                    and run C:quovadxqdx5.4.1integratorclguijavabin>java -jar tzupdater.jar -u

Actaully, that was a big zip file.

I got your idea, downloaded from Sun, the tzupdater, ran the java update command and it did fix both the one hour off and the GMT problem.

                                      Thanks,

                                      Neil
