Having an issue with one device out of 5 that will not run the testing tool and database admin.  I can load them but when I try to apply they just hang.  They work fine from other device just not one laptop.  I have reinstalled the client.  Everything else work fine.

      Any ideas

This is on version 5.7 on an XP laptop

You might want to value the JVM Argument (on the ‘Advanced’ Tab in the Client Options) with -Xmx512m or -Xmx1024m to give the JVM more memory and see if that resolves it.

This used to work before, I do have that in the client option.

The only other suggestion I would have would be to delete the client.ini on the laptop and let it re-build when you fire-up the IDE, although I don’t think it really has any relationship to the issue you are experiencing.  And this probably would have been wiped out and re-created when you did the uninstall/install.

Other potential culprits may be anti-virus software.

              Good Luck 🙂

                James,

This sort of rings a bell. Not totally sure I’m remembering this correctly so I will apologize right off the bat if this is a wild goose chase.

There are a couple of things the Cloverleaf server does where it wants to make a network connection back to the client. You might check your firewall settings on the client. My guess is that the client is blocking the inbound connection back from the server. On a new client here, we open up 13019, 13020, and the ephemeral ports to inbound connections. You might need 13018 (instead of 13019 and 13020) for CL 5.7.

                Good luck…

Thanks for your suggestions, firewall is disabled and tried the client.ini but still same problem.  Anitivirus is the same for all computers in hospital so dont think that would be the problem but I will try and disable it

Rob, did you ever find a solution to your issue. I ask because I’m having the same issue with one of my laptops.  ðŸ˜¥

These comments are about the Cloverleaf 6.0 IDE on Win-7 32-bit and 64-bit OS.

Some of our PCs were refreshed from 32 bit to 64 bit Win-7 and at least one laptop had an issue with the IDE but don’t recall if the symptoms were with the testing tool.

I set the compatibility mode on the Win-7 64-bit desktop for the IDE to Win-7 compatibility and problems went away and it started working.

I mention this in case the difference in the working PCs versus the not working PCs might be 32-bit OS versus 64-bit OS.

I don’t know if there is a 64-bit specific client but the person had already installed the download version we had been using on our 32-bit PCs, and since setting compatibility mode got it working, I did not persue any further.

I had the same exact issue before with my laptop.  Turned out the Windows firewall was blocking the specific port the Cloverleaf GUI was using to communicate back to the server.

I used Cports.exe to find what ports the GUI was using and which were being blocked.  After you reset your windows firewall you’ll see the popup again once you hit the testing tool.

let me know if that works.
