We have cloverleaf running on a shared resource between 2 AIX LPARs in a cluster.  smit clstop runs our shutdown scripts just fine … however, the startup of the engine fails when root attempts to run the hciss -s h command.  Can cloverleaf engine and processes be started as root?  Can root configure the proper environment for hci?  (our security protocol excludes sudo as a possibility).  How are others accomplishing automated startups by AIX in an HA and re-boot situation?

We have two scripts, one with all the startup commands, and the other simply calls it with the one line su – hci -c ‘/usr/local/scripts/start_engine.ksh’.
