SMAT – Quick View and searching

Nice to have –

The ability to seach for a message by segment level and/if possible by Segment and field level.  Currently when we search for something it looks at the entire message and pulls everything.  For example if we want to use apply quick view to search for a client number (4567), it will pull all records with that number.

I second this suggestion.  Either give us the ability to search by field, or even better, give us the ability to return a SHOW or HIDE disposition through a tcl script.  Allow us to store SMAT tcl scripts in a different location on the engine.

The inclusion of tcl would allow us to also manipulate the message to our specs.  For instance, if I want to see all inpatients that came through a thread, but I only want to return the encounter number and date of discharge in the SMAT, I could parse the data to avoid visually filtering through a bunch of junk I don’t need.  

We could use arguments in the same way that they are used in translations, so that we can build and save tcl scripts to perform these functions.  Because maybe next time, I want to query that same thread to see obs patients.

Would including please, please, please have any influence on this topic?
