slowness in sending OB messages

One outbound thread recently has a problem of slowly sending  OB messages. I find from the thread status monitor tool that it keep receiving and sending messages but just slow, thus a lot of message queued in engine side, then cause much delays, what should i take a look into from engine perspective? Thanks

I would check to see if the replies are coming back in a timely manner.  Are the counts for the number of messages in and out on the thread the same?  Assuming you are configured to resend a message if no reply is received within a timeout period, if the ‘Msgs Out’ count is higher than the ‘Msgs In’ count, and/or the ‘Last Write’ time is more current than the ‘Last Rd’ time, then this would be an indication that the receiving system is not ACK’ing within a timely manner.
