RTF to Plain Text

I am diving into the world of sending Transcription to our physician offices.  One of the problems I’ve run into is that a lot of them will not take in anything other than a Plain Text document.  I can have Cerner Millennium send the documents out in plain text but the documents that are transcribed with tables are totally unreadable in plain text.

Has anyone successfully converted RTF to plain text in a cleaver way to maintain some kind of readable format when the document has tables in it?
