I’ve done a bulkcopy, causing all of my PV1 segment soure to be copied to the output.  But, I do not want to value anything in my PV1 segment after PV1.3

I need an answer and example (please) of how I can either 1) not have anything at all (no pipes, nothing) after PV1.3 or 2) have all fields after PV1.3 be null (no value) or in other words, only pipes after PV1.3 ,,, which ever of the two solutions is easiest.

          Dave,

I am guessing you will be finding more of these you will need to undo from BULKCOPY,

Why not use PATHCOPY and field level COPY instead of BULKCOPY (or just field level COPY).

Of course, that would mean you will need to fully understand the integrated systems requirements before building the message.

Specifically you can COPY @nul to whatever fields need to disappeear.

since you only need 3 firlds in the PV1, I would do the BULKCOPY followed by PATHCOPY @null to the PV1 and then simply populate the 3 fields you need.

Copy @null to a segment will clear it.  It will not show up in the output as long as the segment is defined as optional.  This should answer your other post concerning the IN1
