I am fairly new to cloverleaf.  I just attended the level 2 class and learned how to setup the trxn id with a tcl proc to route different types of ADt messages for example.   I have a question on whether it is more effecient (process wise) to use the offset for trxn id or to use trxn tcl proc which has to parse the MSH.

I worked with egate in the past and we found that using the offset to determine routes was more effecient.

I appreciate any input on this.

      thanks,

Why not just specify HL/7 message and then route normally? Why even bother with a trxid proc?

The only time I use a trxid proc is if I cannot easily define the message in the routing configuration within the engine.

Even then I don’t much care for the trxid UPoC since you cannot pass arguments. That is a requested enhancement.

            Jim,

Like I said, I am pretty new to cloverleaf. When I came here all the routing was done as static routes. When I went to class, they suggested the trnx procs but it probably was more of an example of what you can do.  I had worked on the tcl procs to filter messages (in pre proc tcls) but wanted to see what would be more efficient.  It has only been recently that we turned on more ADT triggers but I only wanted to send the new ADT messages to specific threads.

I got it working now. thanks, Nancy
