Question about 5.8 (upgrading from 5.6)

I am in the initial phase of preparing to upgrade from version 5.6 to 5.8 (Windows 2003).  Currently on 5.6 we are using a tclMail package that was provided by Charlie Bursell to handle our email alerts.  I am looking at the new alert capabilities in 5.8 and see that email alerts are built-in.  However, in my testing so far, I can get the email to send, but the subject and message body are blank.  But when I perform the test from within the Site Preferences dialog, the Subject and Message are sent in the email just fine.  Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Just as a way of bumping this thread to shed a bit of visibility to those perusing the forum, I’m also having this exact same issue in 5.8.

Anyone out there have any ideas as to why this may be occurring?

There is a known issue I had the same problem.

It appears to be fixed in the 5.8 newest release.

I just installed it about 3 weeks ago or so.
