We are excited about possibly upgrading to QDX 5.4 this year. How has QDX 5.4 on AIX 5.2 worked since its release? Has anyone had any issues?

we are looking to do the same thing, except that we are kind of being “forced” into 5.4 because our Unix group wants to upgrade the AIX to 5.3, which would require us to move to 5.4.  I haven’t heard of any issues, but then, I am not sure how many people are using it right now!

I’m interested to hear how many folks have upgraded to 5.4 as well.  We are currently in the process of installing new hardware running AIX 5.3 that we will be moving to Cloverleaf 5.4 on.  Any feedback in regards to Cloverleaf 5.4 is appreciated.

            Thanks,

I have several systems running QDX5.4 and AIX 5.3 in an HACMP configuration.  I plan on upgarding the QDX5.3 on AIX 5.2 to also be on QDX5.4 and AIX 5.3.  We had very few conversion issues.  The most notable was the use of bulkcopy with old variants.  We converted the ones having issues to use the pathcopy statements.

Also the tclprocs apparently we had a second occurence of a proc in a another tcl file.  mktclindex blew up until we removed second occurence.  This would not show all of the custom tcl procs until corrected.

I am converting some old Xlates to use lowercase only in the names.  In 5.4 if you have mixed case names and all lowercase with same spelling, you have to type in the name otherwise the mouse click will bounce you to the first occurence in the list.

Minimal issues and will look at installing rev 1 shortly.

                Keith,

Thanks for the info.  The BULKCOPY issue is something that I’m a little nervouse about, as we have several interfaces that use them (inappropriately); so I’ll be on “heightened-alert” for those.

                Thanks again for the feedback.
