We recently ran in to an issue with Radiology. We use Meditech for administration and Epic for everything, but ADT. When radiant users are checking-in patients it shows every account number for that patient since Epic went live 2 plus years ago. Simple solution is for Meditech to send a purge message (A03) for the inactive accounts and accounts older than 6 months. This would clean up options in the drop down and not allow users to select an old account number at check-in.

      The problem is: Meditech

            Tyler,

Whenever we have done an interface using a Clarity extract we have done it using a comma separated list (VRL).  With respect to reading the extract file, there is no reason to split the report up; you should be able to manage the processing by playing with the Max read, Max messages settings on the file/fileset protocol configuration to adjust how fast things process.

            Hope this helps.

What is the max number you can set it at?

The Max messages and Read Interval (not Max Read, sorry) should be set to whatever values make it process as you desire.  The max messages is how many messages to read each time it executes a read of the file.  The Read interval is how often to read the file.  So, if you set the Max Messages to 100 and the Read Interval to 5, the thread would read 100 messages every 5 seconds from the file.  So, you can start with something like that and see how it processes, then adjust accordingly.
