Proxy Server

    Hi,

I have a number of fat clients (windows apps) that need to send HL7 query messages (Q21, Q22) and receive the corresponding K21, K22.

In order to avoid allowing each of these clients through the remote system’s (the recipient of the Q2x messages) firewall, is it possible to use Cloverleaf as a proxy server of some kind ?

    Thanks

    Raja

The Version of qdx dictates the solution.  Maybe you need to clarify how you perceive a “proxy”.  The answere may not require Cloverleaf but a better understanding of servers and multiple connections.

      Raja,

It sounds like you might be able to use the Multi-Server option of the  TCP/IP protocols in Cloverleaf(R) for the clients, then one or two connections to the remote system (for asynchronous message delivery technique frequently associated with query/reply integrations).

Thus any client that wanted to query the remote system would query Cloverleaf(R) on at the same IP address and Port; Cloverleaf(R) would present the query to the remote system and reroute the reply back to the Client that issued the request.

Of course, message flow issues, timings, etc. would need to be investigated.
