We have an Interface sending Registration messages from a batch file to Epic(our EMR systems).  We will have a batch per day. The process is scheduled to send the batch every day morning at 5 am. Each batch usually contains a minimum of 30,000 registration messages.

We are running Cloverleaf 5.4.1 in windows 2003 server.

This is what happened couple of times when we sent more than one batch we noticed process hung which ended up in DB Vista error. The most recent one happened yesterday. We had three huge batches of registration to send and I saw the process hung and no activity in the log file for an hour. Hence I tried to re-cycle the process, and process still showed up. But I looked at PID and noticed process was not running in Task manger and so killed PID and port from process folder. Then stopped all interfaces, stopped and restarted Cloverleaf services. But the problem Interface was not ready to start yet and saw a “DB Vista -921 error” in log. So I called Quovadx support who ended up doing a destructive clean up and everything up running now. But for this I had to bring all our production interfaces down which affected business.

Now the real question:  Some where I remember reading a command hcilmclear -P -V for clearing the DB Vista error so that I can fix the problem process without bringing the entire site down.

By reading above incident does anybody have any comment why I got the error and in future will “hcilmclear” can fix the error if it happen
