What’s the best way to find out what’s killing a process on startup? I’ve reviewed the watch output during startup but not really seeing any kind of error.
Not seeing any error where? Did you check both the log and the error files?
Start the engine manually using hcienginerun and see if it returns an error.
If all this fails contact Support and let them log in take a look at configurations, etc. Much more data is needed.
