We aren’t sure how this is happening but we copied our production sites to create development sites on a different box. Now we have a process that keeps auto starting in our development sites. There is nothing in the logs to indicate what the issue is. We’ve done a full site cleanup and turned debugging on for the process. Sill not much information. Has anyone else ever experienced this and how did you fix it?

It starts its self with the entire site down also. So weird.

      Thanks,

      Belinda

          Belinda,

You may want to take a look at any alerts that may be configured.  In the past we have configured alerts to re-start processes or threads that may have gone down/stopped.  If you copied the full site, it’s possible that someone had configured some alerts to re-start things.  Just a thought.

I agree with Jim that the alerts are likely to be the problem.

Since you said the site is down, does that mean the monitor deamon is down, too?

If the monitor daemon is not down then I don’t consider that site to be down and the alerts could be active.

If the monitor daemon looks to be down, the alert causing the auto start could be running rogue and doesn’t have a corresponding pid file, which can be really hidden but on unix a “ps -ef” and grep for the site might help locate it in that case.
