PGP Software

Hello,

I need PGP software installed on our Cloverleaf server for an interface that needs PGP encrypted file. Our unix admin says that we need to install the following dependencies on our server before she installs the gnupg-1.4.13-1.aix5.1.ppc.rpm  for PGP. Has anybody here done this before? If so what software have you installed and did it have any dependencies?

List as given by the admin is below,  a few of them like curl, perl and gdbm makes me nervous as the engine uses the packages and I am not sure if these version are compatible or not?

We are on AIX 5.3 and cloverleaf 5.6.

We used the International PGP project (<a href="http://www.pgpi.org&#8221; class=”bbcode_url”>http://www.pgpi.org)

freeware version in production with great success.  Specifically version 6.5.8 (<a href="http://www.pgpi.org/products/pgp/versions/freeware/unix/6.5.8/&#8221; class=”bbcode_url”>http://www.pgpi.org/products/pgp/versions/freeware/unix/6.5.8/)

There were no dependencies that I recall for this software either.

Also, you should already have perl installed for Cloverleaf, and I defer to others, but you should watch out for conflicts with a different version.

I’d go ahead and install gnupg and its required packages. Cloverleaf comes with copies of Perl and Curl that can be used alongside OS supplied versions of the same programs.

PGPi requires a commercial license if you are using it in a commercial environment (like a hospital).
