panic status with db vista error of -940

We run version 5.3 on windows 2000 server.  The other day we got a panic status with a db vista error of -940 on one of our threads.  This is a standard tcpip inbound thread.  

The error says a file permission error.  There was nothing else running except our cloverleaf process.  The only thing I was concerned about is that we recently installed the monitoring tool (standard monitoring client) on some of our pcs and I know a co-worker had opened up the monitoring client on her pc right before it occurred. But we have done this before with no problems.

Any one have any ideas?

It did come back up successful after we re-booted.
