Split one OBX to multiple OBX – same message

Is it possible to split message below into multiple OBX at the .br?

      |OBX|1|, OBX|2| etc.

      Is tclproc or Xlate better?

          Lina,

          What release of Cloverleaf?

          Is this in an Xlate?

If Tcl then yes – someone else will need to share how to do that.

If an Xlate then it depends on the Cloverleaf release level as to how much Tcl you need.

You could request the sending system provide that as field repetitions rather than formatted text (~ instead of .br). IMO that would be the best overall. Many systems can do that but won’t unless asked/pressed – what could it harm to ask?

Or you could have a pre-Xlate proc to substitute ~ for .br.

Then a simple ITERATE through the now repeating field with and then no Tcl needed.

If Xlate and you would like to discuss this in more detail (there are other options) feel free to email me (click on the email button in my Signature) and I will discuss with you.

            More specifics.

Will each duplicate OBX contain same data except for field 4?

I assume you want the data between the ./.br./ to be in field 4

Can we assume only one OBX to do this with?  Multiple will be harder, single not too bad
