Our Network Monitor Properties does not have protocol status color enabled, but the thread icon fill color is red, green or yellow. Not sure what controls the fill color and what the criteria is. Where is this set?

It seems to match the criteria we have for message depth color, but that is supposed to set the line color, not fill color.

We have the message depth color enabled such that the count less than or equal to 0 is green, the count less than or equal to 2 is yellow and that all other values for count has a red line color.

Why are our SNA inbound connections showing red/down frequently?

I’m thinking that the way the protocol is controlled at the other end results in some kind of disconnect/reconnect such that the icon shows ‘down’ during the disconnect time. Can anyone confirm that?

      Why doesn’t it show red/opening?

We have two SNA inbound threads – one frequently flips between red/down, green/opening and green/up, sometimes the green/opening stays visible for a few seconds, but usually not, and the green/up goes by so fast you can hardly see it – it is mostly red/down.

The the other one is mostly green/opening. This is a low volume thread, maybe one or two messages a minute, sometimes less than that. They have the same protocol configuration, except that the high volume thread has a Reopen Time of 5, and the low volume thread has a Reopen Time of 1. Does this difference impact that way the the protocol status changes?

Would an inbound protocol ever have a queue depth? If so, would it cause a status color change?

      thanks for any input,

      Pete
