      Hi,

We have a Cloverleaf 6.1 client thread trying to connect to a Cloverleaf 6.0 multi-server thread. Both are running on Windows servers.

However, the Cloverleafs are on different continents and there is a poor network between them with a lag of ~230 ms.

Once a connection has been established, everything works fine, but if for whatever reason we stop one of the threads, it can take 10 mins, 45 mins perhaps longer to connect again. Both stay in state “Opening”.

If I use Telnet, HL7 Inspector or a variety of other testing tools, I can make an instant connection from the client Cloverleaf to the multi-server thread i.e. it goes to status “Up” instantly.

We have tried changing the client and multi-server to both:

      PROTOCOL:pdl-tcpip with PDL mlp_tcp.pdl

      PROTOCOL:tcpip Encapsulated Mode MLLP

but no matter what we try it doesn’t work.

I have tested on a Virtual Machine, setting up two threads that connect to each other via TCP/IP and used a network tool to simulate a lag and can reproduce my issue.

My question is, is there any configuration I can do on the PDL (or elsewhere) to increase the timeout that Cloverleaf uses when establishing a network connection?

I have already logged a case with Infor and they suggested to upgrade and also to try this on the PDL and re-compile

      hci_pd_msg_style basic phrase:basic-msg

      field:data

      timeout:999999

      resync:\xb

But it didn’t help (at least not on my Virtual Machine).

Besides upgrading, does anybody have any ideas/suggestions?

      Thanks,

      Erik
