Every month we go through remove old files and old backups, including the revisions. We realized that when this happened friday the NetConfig got removed and it went unnoticed. Until this morning when we tried to bring up the site and it had issues. We got our backup copied over and the site back up but i have a question that we posed to our support guy (mckesson) and he had no idea and had never seen it before. why or how did this site keep running? It is the site that our orders come from and results go to so if it wasnt running we would have heard bloody mary very early on friday after it happened. We are taking this as a learning opportunity so if anyone knows, feel free.

      Thanks.

The netconfig and all of the related files are loaded into memory and run from there.

I was thinking the same thing; otherwise, I’m guessing there may have been a lock on the file and deletion would not have occurred.

Good thing the file was able to be restored.  That would have been a horrible scenario.

yes, that would be bad. We are very lucky we caught since we do our monthly bounce of our server and it probably would have been gone.

            Thanks for the input.
