      My input source contains 3 OBX lines per result with the first being the actual result information and line two and three containing performing facility address information.  The receiving system wants only the result (first) OBX lines; therefore, the iterate does a pathcopy conditionally based on the OBX Value type.

      I am having an issue with associated NTE segments; however, as a blank OBX segment is put into the output to be associated with the group level of the NTE. example

      1(0).1(2).3(0).0(0).OBX(0)  :  >|1|ST|RBCU^UA RBC^L

      1(0).1(2).3(0).0(1).OBX(0)  :  >|2|ST|WBCU^UA WBC

      1(0).1(2).3(0).0(2).OBX(0)  :  >|3|ST|EPIU^UA SQUA

      1(0).1(2).3(0).0(3).OBX(0)  :  >< 1(0).1(2).3(0).0(3).NTE(0)  :  >|1||PRESENCE OF SQUA

      1(0).1(2).3(0).0(3).NTE(1)  :  >|2||COLLECTED SPECIMEN.

      1(0).1(2).3(0).0(3).NTE(2)  :  >|3||MIDSTREAM OR CATH

      How can I suppress the blank OBX segment?

      Thanks for any help

          Carol,

          If you are using your own iteration counter for the outbound (not the one created by the OBX group iteration) make sure you have it set properly when doing the NTE.

          If you are not pathcopying every OBX and not maintaining your own iteration counter for the outbound, then you need to do that.

          Feel free to email me if you want to discuss this off line.
