      All,

I have modified a value which will cause setroot to modify the LIBPATH environment variable.

This works fine for command line after doing a setroot.

However, I am unsure if I need to cycle the HostServer to get the setroot executed to set up the environment variables for engine execution.

The proc I am using in the engine does not see the environment variable change and I am guessing it is because the HostServer need to be recycled.

Or… is there something else I should consider?

          All,

I will reply to my own post.

Here is what I was attempting:

We have a need to execute the DataDirect ODBC Drivers 5.2 which are distributed with Cloverleaf(R) 5.6 on our Cloverleaf(R) 5.2 platform.

The drivers are located via the LIBPATH environment variable.

The driver path is acquired and set into LIBPATH by setroot (or some routine it invokes) from a file called ODBCINFO. I updated the ODBCINFO file adding the DataDirect 5.2 Driver path and the LIBPATH gets updated when setroot is executed.

However, that did not take care of the engine – only command line.

Until I cycled the host server. Now it is fine the drivers are located because the LIBPATH environment variable contains the desired path.

So — If you change the environment variables setroot configures, you need to bounce the hostserver to get the engine to acquire the new environment variables.
