This is NOT a Cloverleaf topic, so I apologize in advance.
I have received some queries as to just what vehicle is my Profile Photo.
It is a 1974 DeTomaso Pantera. I purchased it new in 1974 and still have it and show it today.
It is one of the first mass produced mid-engine super cars (long before the mid-engine corvette). It was imported from 1971 through 1975 into the USA by Ford Motor Company and had a Cleveland 351 engine (car geek information). The fastest I have had it is 140 MPH (the front end got light at that speed, and it was on open road so crazy to push it).
It is still a thrilling drive although at my age I don’t push it very hard.
In our Michigan Winters, it is housed in a Car Capsule from October to May when I finally unleash it on the unsuspecting locals. It looks and operates better than brand new with upgraded systems (and yearly upgrading to more of the systems). There are no drastic design modifications made to it so it has the appearance of a vehicle just off the showroom floor.
