After adding Numerious new threads when the engine cycle after midnight the display froze. The engine still continued to process transactions. I had to cycle the process’s again to release the display.

      Has anyone experienced this

          Hi Don,

Normally, if the GUI display is not reacting, you will need to restart the hostserver:

          Code:

          hciss -k h
          hciss -s h

We experience this once in a while and it presents no problem, as all interfaces are working normally. Bouncing the hostserver always helped.

            Greetings,

Currenty running CIS 5.8.7.0 on AIX 6.1 TL9.

Since 5.8.5 (at least) if you add or relocate or remove interface threads

while the monitor daemon program is running, it can hang or crash.

This appears to be caused by the monitor’s shared memory region for processes not being updated.

            We follow this procedure:

            (1) Add/remove/relocate threads in processes in a staged NetConfig

            (2) Apply the staged changes

            (3) Cycle the site monitor daemon program either by stopping/starting or restarting [available in 5.8]:

               a. hcisitectl -k m -s m

                   Note: stop/start

               b. hcisitectl -r m -d 5

Note: restart (cycle) monitor daemon only and delay up to 5 seconds

            Hope this helps.
