      Hi,

Have any of you had this situation:

      1. hcisitectl shows valid PIDs for lock manager and monitor daemon

      2. GUI client has one of them red (usually the lock manager)

To fix this, I usually shutdown all processes again from GUI, shutdown lock manager from GUI and bring everything up.

We are running QDX5.3 on AIX 5.2.

Does anyone know the reason for this behavior?

      thanks,

      vamshi.

          Vamshi,

I’ve seen where the lockmgr shows ‘red’ when someone has started the hostserver as a user other than hci.  I would run the command ‘ps -ef | grep server’ and see what user owns the hostserver process; I suspect it will be some other userID than hci.  I would simply stop and re-start the hostserver as ‘hci’.

          Hope this helps.

            vamshi …

Had the same problem with 5.3 here at Oakwood.  The solution from QDX support was to open up a shell window from within the GUI, close all the other GUI’s then cycle the host server from the shell window.  QDX support said this method keeps all the environmental variables from getting confused.
