Monitor Daemon ‘Hang’

Hi folks,

If the Monitor Daemon ‘ran away’ or ‘hung’, the usual cron scripts that check for pid etc will not be able to catch it.

Would AIX or the engine be able to ‘kill’ the daemon on its own?

I am asking this, as the logs does indicate that in most past instances, without human intervention, the daemon recovered. How is this possible?
