    hello all and happy new year!  ðŸ˜†

    My lab system (soft) does not send in the OBX.1 (set id). I need to add some type of counter or use a math function within the interation for the segment, to make sure the OBX.1 increases in numerical order, and then starts again with “1” with the next result message.

    Any ideas?

    thanks so much in advance!

        Sorry I don’t have an answer for this one specifically, but I found that after getting nowhere trying to do the same thing with NK1 segment Set IDs, if the segments were either inbound or copied to target in the correct order, the engine would automatically number them outbound correctly.

        I don’t like not having that granular control, but letting the engine do it has worked out satisfactorily (so far).

        Thanks to Ron, I have been able to do as requested. Here is how to use the math function:

        set the variable:

        =0   @obx

        use the Math ADD function

        input:                         output:

        =1                              @obx

        @obx

        next line w/in the translation file

        @obx      1(%g1).OBX.00569(0)

        works like a charm!

        Thanks so much to Jim Kosloskey 😆
