      Hi

I see some posts stating the capabilities of LPM (Live Partition Mobility) allows you to ” move cloverleaf from one physical box to another on the fly”.  Unfortunately i’m not techy/smart enough to know what it can/can’t do for me so I ask the good folks of clovertech land this…

Does LPM allow me to flip cloverleaf over on-the-fly from an active server to a passive server in an hacmp environment without processes crashing/message loss/connectivity issues/etc?

We currently have HACMP on AIX 5.3 with 2 physical servers (2 prod lpars, 2 test lpars) in a active-passive running qdx5.4.1.  We are looking at upgrading both hardware, os and cloverleaf version in a big bang effort.

When upgrading os or adding hardware to a physical server, we currently initiate an hacmp failover (planned outage) to passive server which takes a good 20+ minutes to bring back our cloverleaf process.  Literally stopping all cloverleaf processes (on the active) and restarting cloverleaf processes (on the passive).  After which cloverleaf processes are not always stable. This is getting annoying and I’m looking for some better solutions.
