I am getting errors in sites when starting all threads and processes after a stop and start of the entire system, i.e stopping and starting the hcihostserver and the hciservice58 services.

The environment is Windows Server 2003, Cloverleaf 5.8.5  Below is the error messages from the process logs.

Why am I receiving these errors and what can be done to prevent them?

Here is the context for this error.

          1) TCL script stops all the threads, all the processes then the monitor deamon for a site.

          2) TCL script starts the monitor deamon, all the process and then the threads for a site.

Afterwards, all processes and threads are up and functional.  However, if you through the GUI stop a process you then cannot start that process until ALL processes for a site have been stopped.  When you attempt to restart the first process stopped you receive the error noted earlier in the post.

In a previous thread Charlie Bursell stated that the lock manager was part of the OS. Why then a lock manager error?   Remember this is Windows.

I do not understand why this error manifests itself. I am doing all the calls to the PERL functions to stop/start the threads, processes, monitor deamon.   If I do all the same steps via the GUI there are no errors.

            Greetings,

Though we run on AIX UNIX here I do recall some details about the Windows platform where there is NO cloverleaf lockmanager.  Perhaps the scripts you use assume you are on a Unix platform and tries to start up the lockmanager.

You can always open up an incident on INFOR’s support website.

We use it often and has proven effective in getting action on problems.

            Good hunting!

David, have you entered a support ticket with Infor Xtreme? I haven’t seen this particular error before.

There is no Cloverleaf lock manager on Windows, that is correct.

David, post your script so we can take a look at your code.

the zip file attached contains all the parts of the application.

Which script is causing the panic?

I suggest adding some echo statements to your scripts to narrow it down to exactly where the problem occurs.

                With regards to this comment:

                Code:

Be sure to run your stop/start script as the hci user if not already doing so.
