I heard today that SMS either no longer supports the super record or it isn’t going to be supporting it anymore.

If this is true, what is everyone planning on using as a replacement.

Here we made our own copy of the super record and tricked the master function into thinking it was calling SMS’s super record when in reality it calls ours.

This way we have complete control to modify the super record program and boy do we modify it and boy is that wonderful.

Also, this means we have less concern about it becoming obsolete because who cares we maintain our own copy.

Perhaps the super record is already obsolete for some SMS shops and I’m learning old news that doesn’t have an immediate impact on our shop.

My motivation for asking is that some people are asking me here if the GRV3 is the replacment for the super record if SMS no longer is going to support the super record.

So can anyone out there confirm if SMS will no longer support the super record and is so what is the alternative replacement?

          Russ,

I don’t know the official timeframe, but it is my understanding that the SuperRecord is eventually going away.  Most institutions (in my limited experience) are moving to the the GRV3 record.  This is the case in our institution (Henry Ford Health/Bi-County Hospital), as well as my previous insitutions.   There is flexibility with the GRV3, but likely not as customizable as your “own” SuperRecord.  I would check with the Siemens folks to get the ‘official’ word/timeline.

Gee Russ, I hope you are not sad that the super record is going away  ðŸ˜¥   I think we should celebrate it!  ðŸ˜›

Now if only all of TIF/RTIF would go away  ðŸ˜‰
