I try to save a SMAT message from our inbound Invision reg system to a file to save for the testing tool. These are not working. The testing tool says the message does not begin with MSH. This could be possibly either the header stuff that is on the Invision messages or a non-ASCII format or something different all together. I’ve tried to do some edits without success.

          Paul,

The inbound messages are likely EBCDIC incoded.

You will need to convert them to ASCII before the engine can use them.

You probably have an Inbound TPS proc that converts them niow as the messages are received – however they are recorde in the inbound SMAT as EBCDIC.

There is also a header portion to the message that needs to be stripped off before you get to the HL/7 message.

One way to do this is to have a route to a dev/null thread with it’s SMAT turned on and then use that thread’s output thread (Raw route) SMAT as it will be converted to ASCII and have the heaer stripped off.
