      Hi All,

       I am a new Interface Analyst, and this is my first posting to Clovertech.   I have been waiting with excitement for the opening of this new Forum THANK YOU Rick, and all those who helped to make this resource a reality.  Now..on to my question….

      We are running Integrator version 3.8.1.  When attempting to use the testing tool we receive the following errors:

      “Please wait…

      Command Issued: hcitpstest -r run -f nl -c sms_ib_data -e “hciroutetestshowbydest ” /hci/root3.8.1P/sitetest/data/star_a08 “append_FAC_PV1_3”

      Command output:

      /hci/root3.8.1P/bin/hcitpstest: tpsRun() failed

      [0:TEST] Tcl error:

      msgId =

      proc = ‘Tcl_BindMsg()’

      args = ”

      result = ‘couldn’t open “filtered_source_handles.tcl_-608432713”: permission denied’

      errorInfo: ‘

      couldn’t open “filtered_source_handles.tcl_-608432713”: permission denied

         while executing

      “open $filteredFile w”

         (procedure “SourceFilter” line 17)

         invoked from within

      “SourceFilter /hci/root3.8.1P/tclprocs/handles.tcl”

         (“uplevel” body line 1)

         invoked from within

      “uplevel #0 $auto_index($name)”

         (procedure “auto_load” line 13)

         invoked from within

      “auto_load $name [uplevel 1 {namespace current}]”

         (autoloading “hcihandlerecord”)

         invoked from within

      “hcihandlerecord message0″‘

      [0:TEST] Tcl_BindMsg() failed — cannot run Tcl procs”

          Here are the setting in use when this error is generated:

      Run Mode/ New Line Terminated/

      Caller Context: sms_lb_data

      Send to Proc: hcitpstestshowbydisp

        This “permission denied while executing” come up regardless of the proc or data file selected.

        Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks

          I had this type of problem.  It seems that, as of 3.8.1, the tcl interpreter attempts to write a “filtered-source” file in the directory where the command is executed.  If you do not have write permissions to that directory, you will get this error.  If you try to run it in a directory that you have permissions on, you should not have any further difficulties.

            Since you are running these commands through the GUI, you will need to make sure that the hostserver is running in a directory that it has write permissions to.

            Stop the host server with “hciss -k h”, change to a directory that you can write to, and restart it with “hciss -s h”
