      Hi,

Our OBX 5 field is RTF and we need to be able to insert some plain text at the beginning of the doc. However, I know it can’t just go at the start of the headers. What is the best way to find out where the first text appears in the RTF data or really where can I safely insert some plain text in the RTF data to be at the start.

      Thanks,

Hello, were you able to get this working.  I am trying to do the same and so far I have not been successful.

I’ve found RTF to be rather tricky to parse. One thing you might try is to have the source system insert some unique tag in the document text where the substitution is to be made. Once inside the engine, locate the tag and replace it with the text you want to insert. Alternatively you could do a similar thing using RTF user properties. They’re tagged in the document as “*userprops”. Both methods require the source system to indicate where the insertion would take place.

I actually added the RTF tag to beginning of the statement I needed at the top of the transcription report.  I added an OBX before the OBX with the report and it worked beautifully.

              Thanks
