Insert a NK1 seqment if Nk1 is not coming to the cloverleaf

Vendor has requested at least a NK1 segment with null value if ADT does not have the NK1 segment.  Can anyone help me how can I insert the NK1 seqment with no data into the incoming ADT message in XLT?

Hyo-Chan,

If you are using an Xlate, just make sure the NK1 segment is required (not optional) in the Message/Event variant you are using for the outbound.

Cloverleaf will always produce a required segment (as long as it is NOT part of a optional Group) even if you do not COPY anything to it.

I set a NK1 with an inbound optional and an outbound required and set only a bulkcopy for a command.

My outbound did not have any messages copied and IN1 was trancated even though NK1 was created.  My XLT set up is attached.

Did you get any errors (like mis-matched IR tags)?

Did you run the inbound messages through the HL/7 tester?

If you are using BULKCOPY then the optional/required notation does not have any affect (every segment in that matches the variant will be copied in its entirety to the outbound).
