Importing table data

Is there a way to import data into a table instead if typing it all in from scratch (or cut and pasteing from a spreadsheet one value at a time)?

I have a table defined in a spreadsheet that has 322 rows of data … would rather not do this one row at a time….

I have used it several times and it works well. I think you’ll have to convert your spreadsheet into a csv before using though.

Attached is a simple script to convert a .csv file to a Cloverleaf table.  You’ll need to modify the first line of code for your environment.

It’s good to see that my simple efforts are still in use and appreciated.

Tom – I wrote the table creator for exactly the situation you refer to. I got fed up with typing them in every time.

Whichever solution you go for – mine or James or I hope it meets your needs.

If it is Tcl, you can put it in the Master Site tclprocs directory if you are utilizing the Master Site.

You can put it in a site tclprocs dirctory but then you have to be in that site to execute.

You can place it in the HCIROOT tclprocs directory but then it will be removed with an upgrade to the next Cloverleaf release.

Many options – pick the one that fits your situation.

Don’t forget to do a mktclindex wherever you put it.
