IB HL7-2.3 ADT_A.* –> OB HL7-2.5

We need to have a thread to:

* take-in HL7-2.3 ADT_A.*

* convert to HL7-2.5 ADT and then send-out

What would be the best way to do it?

If I use Xlate, seems I have to create many .xlts (for every A01, A02, …).

Hi John,

No, you can do this with one (or a very few) Xlates. Just need to define a ‘generic’ 2.3 message (I usually name it ADT) with all needed 2.3 segments in there. Segments or groups that are not needed in all ADT^A* messages should be optional. Also make a generic 2.5 ADT message. Then create a ‘generic Xlate from 2.3 ADT -> 2.5 ADT; you can use this Xlate for ADT^A01, ADT^A02 and all other messages.
