Hxx segment

We are receiving an HL7 message that has an Hxx segment in it. I tried to adding Hxx segment to my HL7 variant and it automatically saves it in all upper case as HXX instead of Hxx. I think this might be causing my issues with the Hxx segment in my translate. getting errors in the output message “unknown segment ‘Hxx’ — ignored” How do I go about adding this Hxx segment to a variant so I can use it in a translate?

  HL/7 standard is all segment IDs must be upper case.
  
  I suspect your sending system needs to be corrected.
  
  Have you checked to make sure even HXX is a valid Segment ID?
  
  It has to be one of the supported segments for the HL/7 version being used or a Z Segment otherwise it is in violation of the standard.
  
  Check the HL/7 standard for the version and see if an HXX segment is doucmented.

  Thanks Jim, I couldn’t find that the HXX is a standard HL7 segment. I am going to try to turn this into a Z segment to see if it will resolve my issues.
