      I have on piped file that I can pull into one VRL file.  One of the fields contains subfields separated by semicolons.  The subfields vary per message.

      I see in the other entries that HRL can hand repeats.  How would one use use HRL with this one VRL file?  What are the setting with it comes to the repeat?

          If it can work it would mean defining multiple VRL definitions to define the various portions of the actual delimited file.

          The HRL then would aggregate the VRL definitions. One challenge would be to be able to properly specify the repetition pattern in the HRL.

            Consider normalizing to an HL7 variant.
