Our Operations group needs to monitor hundreds of threads in over thirty sites.

          Hi Scott.

I’m not answering you question, but this may help.

We have 70+ production sites and have used our own monitoring script for years, send an alert if there is an issue …  Tech Services recently implemented Nagios (www.nagios.org) and we have added a Nagios script which updates the Nagios services (one for each site and a few threads for web pages).  This provides a ‘dash board’ overview.

In GM 4.0 there is an “alert view” that will only show connections having problems (e.g. thread down, protocol down, etc).

From the view the button is in the upper right corner of the screen and will look like a red exclamation point or a green check mark depending on what mode you are in (alert or normal mode).

Unfortunately the Alert View doesn’t include threads in Opening status, which eliminates its usefulness for operators.  Is there any way to modify what statuses are displayed in Alert View?

For all of those still wondering about this, Global Monitor 5.0 has an option where users can filter the list to only show threads that have problems.
