I am mapping an FRL to HL7 in an A01 xlate. I have a script that puts the med services inbound to PV1(0).00133(0).[0] if a room number and bed don’t exist. Then based on the value in PV1 I need to look up a table and put the location alias we have defined to populate PV1(0).00133(0).[0] with this new value.

Does anyone know how to do this?

          Jim,

In the Table lookup Action in your Xlate select the source from the outbound message definition and also select the destination from the outbound message definition.

You should see ~PV1(0).00133(0).[0] (note the tilde – that means the source is taken from the outbound definition) in the source and PV1(0).00133(0).[0]  (note the absence of the tilde) in the destination.
