How does the SmatHistory "cycle save" work on CL 5

I’m really confused about the smat cycling…I set it to cycle, but I thought it would give you the option to set it to run at a certain time. Well it seems to be cycling on it’s own at weird times. Is anyone using this functionalily on CL5.8?
