Does anyone know why the HostID would change on a Windows 2008 virtual server everytime the server reboots.  This cause the licensed product to become unlicensed and we need to request a new license everytime it occurs.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Which version of Cloverleaf are you using? Somebody may correct me but earlier versions created the host id from the MAC address of the computer – Does your VM have a fixed MAC address?

May not be relevant if you are using newer versions.

          Regards

              Hi Garry,

I’ve never used 5.8 but I’ve successfully run older versions as VM’s including 5.5 and 5.6.

All I can suggest is that you log a call with Cloverleaf support and see if they can assist in isolating the problem.

I am experiencing the same problem when the Security Server (a Win 2008 VM) reboots. It appears there is a newer hcihostid.exe that is part of the 5.8.4 (and maybe earlier) patch. The newer exe returns the same host ID after a reboot.
