HL7 variant field size issue

When I change the size of a field(3)in segment PV1, it doesn’t change the output.

Example:

My input value is

L/D^H1001^A^BUMC^

When I run it thru the xlate,BUMC is missing:

L/D^H1001^A^

the field is set up:  CM  with length of 12.

I changed it to a length of 20, and the output stayed the same.

Any suggestions?

Are running your test through the Xlate Test tool?

Yes, I have run it thru the testing tool, but I also see it doing the same thing in the production messages using the xlate.  Bulkcopy is being used also.

When it is a raw route, there are no issues.

Check to make sure your Xlate is configured to use the Variant you modified for your outbound message.

I took a closer look and that was the problem.  I assummed it was a different one.
