Anyone trying to do anything with this? I have begun to delve into it and am having some issues so looking for a collaborator.

Same here Jim, I downloaded all resources from FHIR website, and tried to compile their .xsd files in Cloverleaf XML manger, it failed.

I think the standard is still in such a state of flux the schemas may not be solid.
Also I think many of them may not work with older releases of Cloverleaf (for example maybe older than 6.1.0).
I believe Infor is committed to supporting FHIR once it has truly become a stable standard. I think that iis anticipated to be circa 2017.

Hia, Jim that is correct, FHIR DSTU version 1 is out now. DSTU Version 2 is due in May / June time frame 2015, with the final version due sometime in 2017. We are active members of the HL7 FHIR committee and we have participated in a connectathon in November 2014.
To use the FHIR schemas in Cloverleaf you will need 6.1 and CAA-WS 2.0 or higher.
The current plan is to provide working examples that an organization can use to support FHIR from their Cloverleaf engine, using BOX.
I will post more details as soon as they are

We’d be interested in information related to using Cloverleaf and FHIR.
We’ll be involved with it soon. 🙂

I suspect the first step would be to get the Schemas and Schematrons from the FHIR web site.
Then compile the Schemas.
I took a quick look and loaded one of the shemas into OxyGen. It validated but the resultant message looks to be around 22 Meg. I need to work some more with it but it looks like the individual schemas are not large but load in some ‘basic’ schemas which accumulated result in something apparently large.
I have not yet looked for sample messages to use as input.
I have also not attempted to compile on Cloverleaf (6.0.0) or use in any way.

Hi,
FHIR DSTU2 is out for the Paris connectathon in May!
http://www.hl7.org/FHIR/2015May/index.html
The Schemas compile well in CL 6+.
There are two errors due to some files not having a root element, but you can just ignore them.
But be warned: Compiling all Resources will take approx. 30 minutes.
Here’s a zip of the already compiled schemas, just unzip to your sites /formats/xml folder and you’re done:

I’ve been doing quite a lot of work with FHIR and Cloverleaf.
You can read about it on my blog:

Have fun!

Hi folks,
I have to admit I have not been keeping up with my readings on this…
Recently a prospective vendor seem to support only the FHIR standard (they called it HL7 4.0) and needs to integrate woth other systems supporting only HL7 2.3.
Has anyone done this?
Any suggestions on reading resources (FHIR and Cloverleaf-related)?
TIA!

From 6.2 release notes:
FHIR JSON and XML 1.0.2 (DSTU) are supported as formats.
Also CAA-WS has support for connectivity using FHIR JSON or XML.
Unfortunately I do not have access to a Cloverleaf system or I would spend some time validating.
But it seems like 6.2 is where you need to be.

I was involved in enabling FHIR in our Epic environment in November. This does not go through Cloverleaf.
