Have Processes only use a certain range of Ports

Does anyone know how to force the processes to only use a certain range of ports?

We are running into a lot of port contention that when a process is restarted sometimes it will grab a port that an inbound thread wants to use to listen on to receive data.

We are running on RHEL 6.4, CL 6.1.1.

Rob,

You should not use ports in the ephemeral range for your threads.  This would avoid any potential conflicts with ports used by the OS (hence processes)

From the IDE, Options->Site Options and select System Management tab.

From here you can select the range of ephemeral ports that the engine will use.
