gnudb question

We have a gnu db set up for a thread that pulls stored info from and order message and puts it into the result. We have found a need to use this same thing going to another facility. My question is will it hurt anything if by chance 2 messages are trying to open the db or if it is open while the other message gets their. Also, can you use a gnu db from site to site. If we have one in use in one prod can we use the same db from another prod. this is my first go around with this. Thanks for Any thoughts or ideas.

You would need to include code to re-try opening the database until it’s successful.
