FTP under AIX

not using cloverleaf to receive a file from another system via ftp.

I setup a directory structino with perfmission on the group of rw..and all higher level directories correspond.

..yet when the file is put into this directoy it does not have the “w” attribute.

the seucrity login umask is defined as 002 and when I use this login under ksh…and toucha file it DOES have the correct “w” permissions under group…..so Im thinking it’s somethign within FTP that will not set the “w’ attribute for group on the put……

any suggestions on the ftp client side or AIX server side that will allow the put of a file to have a default attribute of “w” for the group ?
